Smart EV charging powered by solar energy

Smart EV Charging Points

Electric vehicles are the future of transport, and charging them with your own solar energy makes perfect sense. Our smart EV chargers integrate seamlessly with your solar installation, automatically charging your car with excess solar energy during the day.

Instead of paying £0.30+ per kWh from the grid to charge your EV, use your own solar electricity at a fraction of the cost. A typical EV requires 40-60 kWh for a full charge – that's £12-18 from grid electricity, but just a few pounds worth of solar energy.

Why Solar-Integrated EV Charging?

  • Reduce Charging Costs: Charge your EV with free solar energy instead of expensive grid electricity.
  • Solar-Optimized Charging: Smart chargers prioritize solar energy, charging your EV when the sun is shining.
  • Grid Balancing: Charge overnight on cheap off-peak tariffs when solar isn't available.
  • Future-Ready: As EVs become standard, home charging will be essential.
  • Increase Property Value: EV chargers are increasingly desirable for homebuyers.

Charger Types & Specifications

7 kW (32A Single-Phase): Standard home charger. Adds ~25-35 miles of range per hour. Suitable for overnight charging or daytime solar charging.

22 kW (32A Three-Phase): Fast home charger (requires three-phase electricity supply). Adds ~70-90 miles per hour. Ideal for those who need rapid charging or have large vehicles.

Smart Charger Features

  • Solar Integration: Automatically diverts excess solar energy to your EV, maximizing self-consumption.
  • Tariff Optimization: Schedule charging during cheap off-peak periods when solar isn't available.
  • App Control: Monitor and control charging remotely via smartphone app.
  • Load Balancing: Prevents circuit overload by managing charger current based on household consumption.
  • Universal Compatibility: Type 2 connectors work with all modern EVs (Tesla, Nissan Leaf, Renault Zoe, etc.).

OZEV Grant

The OZEV (Office for Zero Emission Vehicles) EV chargepoint grant provides up to £350 towards the cost of installing a home EV charger. We handle all the paperwork and grant application for you.
